Workshop “Aligning R&I for a Resilient Mediterranean Region From Policy Integration to Solutions”

postato in: News | 0

Siena, 3-4 November 2026

Venue: Santa Chiara Lab – University of Siena

Via Valdimontone 1, Siena

Concept

The workshop aims to bridge the gap between high-level mandates—the UN Agenda 2030 and the European Green Deal (EGD)—and the specific realities of the Euro-Mediterranean region, with a particular focus on the PRIMA priorities. By convening the Future4PRIMA CSA experts, the event will move beyond theoretical alignment to identify the structural barriers and scale up best practices. In addition this workshop will feature a specialized thematic focus dedicated to the relevance of product quality and geographic origin as strategic tools for valorizing agri-food productions.

The workshop follows a verifiable step-by-step sequence:

Day 1 (Evidence & Diagnosis): Moves from Mediterranean SDG evidence to PRIMA2 priorities, stakeholder identification, barrier prioritization, innovation uptake, territorial case studies, and the PRIMA-SDG Tool methodology.

Day 2 (Validation & Recommendations): Focuses on testing the PRIMA-SDG Tool, identifying enabling assets and solutions, defining differentiated local, national, and regional implementation pathways, and concluding with a structured synthesis and prioritization of policy recommendations.

The final plenary explicitly produces a preliminary Recommendations Matrix with five mandatory fields: Identified Barrier, Enabling Asset Solution, Governance Level, Responsible Actor, and Proposed Action. This structures the output directly for the Multilevel Policy Package and the future PRIMA2 framework.

By participating in this workshop, you will gain exclusive access to and hands-on discussion of the PRIMA-SDG Tool, explore the portfolio-level SDG analysis, and seize a unique opportunity to contribute evidence and recommendations to the PRIMA2 impact and monitoring framework.
